AUGUST NEWS

August 21, 2017

You can feel it... Summer is winding down and Fall is standing by. At St. David's, that means that Fall activities are in planning mode. The books for this Fall's Book Study have arrived and will be available for purchase over the next four weeks. Watch for minute speaks starting this coming Sunday. Follow ACTS ministry for further details.

Your webmaster is updating today from the Alderwood Mall in Washington. My wifi signal is strong (I am working in the Apple store.) The excitement for the week in South Puget Sound had to be this morning's eclipse of the sun. We were in Port of Edmonds and the only eclipse effect was a degree of darkening - creating an eerie feeling. Meanwhile a group of about 30 folk paid $100 US each to ride out of harbour on a double masted schooner to witness the big event.

Of course, the news stations are full of coverage of the rallies all over the USA. It is interesting to be an observer at this time.

Such fun. Today your webmaster is updating from Silverdale "Greens on the Way" while laundry is being washed next door. The weather has cooled down a bit and it even rained a bit over the weekend. Our administrator, Chantal, keeps me in the loop and the PSALT team keeps me at task. Check out the worship folder for August 13 if you were unable to be at church last Sunday. You can find it as a file attachment under ministries-worship. Have a great week.

Hi, from Tacoma, Washington

The temperature today and for the past week has been in the high 80's to low 90's. And... tomorrow will mark 51 days without rain. We drove into Tacoma from our boat docked at Port Orchard so that we could deal with a charging macbook issue. Our grandson, Nic, age 16, has been a great companion and over the next week we will be joined by our daughters and their families. Life is grand!

Your webmaster has left the city... but here she sits, at the Marina in Kingston, Washington, updating the comings and goings at St. David's. Look for exciting updates as we move forward toward Fall and the busyness of a new church year. Both Kelley and Peggy have returned from July holidays.

We are saddened by the passing of Ruth Moir whose Celebration of Life will be held at St. David's on August 9 at 2 p.m.
