UPDATE TO SEPTEMBER 28, 2017
It is almost October! How can that be? If we review the activities of September, there have been many. And this weekend is no exception. You can attend the Stephen Ross Concert Friday night at 8 p.m. the SDUC Foundation seminar Saturday morning, the Rehearsal for Janice Rider's Chameleon Drama group at 6 p.m.
UPDATE TO SEPTEMBER 18, 2017
Next Sunday, September 24, 2017 is a "Covenanting as a Community and Welcome Back Lunch." Tickets will be available at the office this week. Note the upcoming Mozart Concert and Healing Touch service.
The worship folder for last Sunday can be found on the Ministries/Worship page. Let me know if this is a valuable attachment for you. The September 17 Newletter is attached as a file below.
UPDATE TO SEPTEMBER 11, 2017: We are home and it is like holidays were just a dream. We arrived home Friday night, in time to do sound/light on Sunday. If you are interested in joining the PSALT team, just let me or the office know.
September 6, 2017: David and I are sitting on the head of the harbour at Friday Harbour, Washington, watching the ferry dock and waiting for the movie to begin. We feasted on mussels and garlic bread from our favourite vendor on the dock. We are homeward bound with eta sometime on Saturday so that I can take my turn for PSALT on sound and lights. Speaking of which, if you have any interest in joining the PSALT team, we could really use your participation.
HERE IT COMES. Holidays are drawing to a close as we approach the Labour Day Weekend. Families are getting in that last weekend of camping. School supplies are piling up and here at St. David's, ACTS has begun the fall sale of books and registrations for the Monday Night Book Study. Sales were brisk last Sunday. Study begins on September 18 at 7 p.m.
If you are like me, you are enjoying the last few days of holiday before returning to the busyness and productiveness of the fall and what it promises in the way of challenge and opportunity.
Next Sunday we can expect the return of projection during the service, thanks to the dedication of the PSALT projection team who have enjoyed a break over the summer months. As well, choirs will be soon starting up again and before you know it, they will be working on their Christmas music. Ah, yes.
Now that the church year has drawn to a close, we can celebrate our summer season, knowing that come fall, activities will begin again with enthusiasm and vigour. Many of us will go our separate ways this summer and return with exciting stories to share as we reunite. Others of us will be at worship through July and August. We have had an enthusiastic schedule of worship leaders during the month of July including Rev. Debbie Stockdale, Alison Demeter and Wayne Holst and the ACTS committee. Welcome back to Rev. Peggy McDonagh and Rev. Kelley Warner.
